Caregiver Help Information

Caregiver Help was founded by Elaine K Sanchez and Dr. Alex Sanchez. In 2007 she published the unflinchingly honest and uproariously funny book, Letters from Madelyn, Chronicles of a Caregiver. Elaine now speaks at caregiving conferences and to healthcare organizations across the United States. Her articles have appeared in numerous newspapers and magazines, and she hosts Caregiver Help Radio, a one-hour weekly radio show on WebTalkRadio.net. Dr. Alex Sanchez is a lifelong educator. He served as a community college president for 15 years. In 2012, he retired from his position as Professor of Education at Oregon State University where he taught a doctoral program in Community College Leadership. Alex cared for Amey, his first wife, through her terminal illness with lung cancer. When he and Elaine got married, he became her partner in caring for Madelyn and Quentin through the final years of their lives. Because they have personally experienced caring for loved ones who can no longer care for themselves, they understand how long, lonely, and frightening the caregiver journey can be. They combined Elaine’s experience in entertainment with Alex’s outstanding educational background to create a program that brings hope and humor to the incredibly difficult challenge of caring for those who are aging, chronically ill or disabled. They developed CaregiverHelp.com so no one will ever have to walk the caregiving path alone.
