Interlock Industries, Inc. was founded in 1982 when four businessmen joined forces in the ownership of an international manufacturer of custom roofing and siding products. Their mission: diversification through the acquisition of strong, growth-oriented companies. Within three years, holdings included transportation, aluminum billet casting and extrusion, and corrugated packaging companies. Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Interlock is now privately held by the founding member Joseph L. Mackin's children. As of 2010, Interlock employed over 2,000 full-time associates. Interlock and its companies have over 23 manufacturing facilities in 20 different states, and conduct business worldwide. While the companies owned by Interlock represent four different industries, they share the parent company’s management ideals.
