Our mission is to preserve and restore the biological integrity and beauty of the San Diego River while integrating recreational, educational, and cultural opportunities for youth, seniors and families. Lakeside's River Park Conservancy was formed in 2001 as a 501(c)3 charitable organization. We have raised over $22.5 million for new projects, developed 3 miles of trail and welcome over 30,000 River Park trail users each year. We will continue to preserve land along the San Diego River for California native plants and wildlife species, and for future generations to enjoy these open spaces. From the El Capitan Reservoir, through the spectacular El Monte Valley and into to Santee, our vision is to create a 52-mile long trail from the mountains to the ocean.
