ValueAct Capital invests for the long term, in high quality companies, offering data driven insights to managers and directors whom they view as partners. Founded in 2000, VAC invests on behalf of some of the world’s largest institutional investors. They have made over 100 core investments, served on over 40 public company boards, and their goal is to leave a company in a better position than when they first invested in it. They regularly hold positions for 3-5 years and occasionally for 10 years or more. They believe that investing and managing companies for the long term requires integrity, a deep understanding of industry structure and business strategy, and a consideration of relevant social, ethical and environmental issues.
