Vic Books Information

Vic Books was founded in 1975 as the supplier of all Victoria University of Wellington course textbooks and notes. Since then our independently owned stores have grown to also include stationery, giftware, official University memorabilia, superbly curated books and contemporary cafes. Vic Books Kelburn is our flagship store with a large selection of books, a big cafe that flows into The Hub that also incorporates a Foodstore. Our Kelburn cafe and bookshop is the Crown Jewel of the Kelburn campus, taking centre stage on Kelburn Parade, the main entry point to University life. Start your day with a flat white from the cafe, pop in for lunch and peruse the bookstore for gifts, books, and stationery. Vic Books Pipitea is superbly curated and handily located next to the Central Wellington Railway Station, Commerce and Law Schools. We're pretty proud of our Pipitea cafe and bookshop's setting and love pulling up a chair with a cuppa under one of our favourite artworks! Colin McCahon's monumental Gate III returned home, to loom over our Pipitea cafe after it's first public outing in Tāmaki Makaurau since 1971.
